Integrative Psychotherapy & Specialized Care

NEW YORK | VIRTUAL CARE

Move Beyond Traditional Talk Therapy

Integrative Therapy

Integrative psychotherapy is a progressive clinical approach that moves beyond traditional talk therapy. I combine evidence based psychological treatments, such as EMDR, Internal Family Systems, and psychodynamic perspectives, with somatic practices to treat the whole person.

Rather than utilizing a generic method, I blend these therapeutic modalities to address your specific clinical needs. This comprehensive approach is designed specifically for adults seeking specialized care for a broad range of clinical concerns. My practice treats mood disorders, trauma, addictions, and the full spectrum of technology overuse, whether that involves resolving bad habits, compulsive use, or technology addiction.

Complementary therapies enhance this clinical work. Integrating practices like Yoga Nidra and mindfulness helps regulate the nervous system, reduce stress, and improve your overall quality of life, acting in conjunction with your conventional psychological care.

Complementary therapies are meant to enhance, not replace conventional treatment you may be receiving for physical or psychological conditions.

Specialized Clinical Approaches

A Tailored Approach

There are different methods I may use to help you with the issues that you want to address. I use an integrative approach that draws on psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal/relational and somatic psychotherapies.

Listed below are brief descriptions of some of the treatment modalities I incorporate into clinical practice, as the need arises.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a cognitive and behavioral approach that uses acceptance and mindfulness, together with commitment and behavior change strategies to increase psychological flexibility. ACT helps people to develop clarity about personal values and goals, and commit to needed behavior change.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Internal Family Systems (IFS) helps us to bring awareness to our different internal voices so we can begin to understand and resolve internal conflicts. By paying attention to the interactions between different parts of ourselves, we can learn to develop a compassionate and trusting self-relationship often resulting in significant improvement in symptoms and interactions with others.

A key tenet of IFS is that all of us have a core self that is never damaged and does not need to be healed. As we gain access to our intrinsic, positive core qualities, we can establish authentic self-leadership.

Psychodynamic Psychotherapy

The purpose of psychodynamic treatment is to help people change and progress in their lives. The development of self-awareness and insight is a step in achieving that progress. Psychodynamic treatment helps to examine self-limiting assumptions and unconscious motives and conflicts; to understand their origins, and to arrive at more current and adaptive understandings to facilitate new options for solving problems, and for living.

Somatic Therapies

Somatic Therapies

I integrate breathwork, sensory awareness, and relaxation techniques to support the body's innate healing capacities. Somatic therapy addresses emotional concerns and the physical effects of trauma that are often difficult to resolve through talk therapy alone.

Mindfulness & Movement

Through mindfulness practices, you can learn to stay in touch with the present moment, without having to ruminate about the past or agonize about the future. Meditation is not about “getting it right” or attaining any ideal state. It is about being able to stay present with ourselves and remaining open to whatever arises.

Yoga Nidra

Designed to induce a state of deep rest and relaxation,Yoga Nidra fosters the physical and emotional regulation necessary to sustain high-level performance in a world of constant demand.
